Oaxaca, 1975He is one of the most progressive contemporary artists in Mexico and up to these days. In his artwork the wealth of the plastic, the experimental techniques and the inner emotions converge in a way almost impossible to fathom at first glance.Throughout his pictorial compositions Amador Montes takes us to imaginary scenarios that he rescues from the stories that his father told him and also from the memory of his mother. His works in cloth and other canvases support themselves harmoniously on top of organic figurations and textures achieved with the incorporation of diverse paper poses, oil incrustations and other materials that feed the sensations of the spectator.His work has been exhibited in prestigious galleries and museums in Mexico, among them the following: Casa Lamm Gallery (Mexico City), Drexel Gallery (Nuevo León), Museo del Risco (Jalisco), University Museum Casa de los Muñecos (Puebla), the University Cultural Complex of BUAP (Puebla), the Regional Museum of Guadalajara (Jalisco), the Oaxaca Painters Museum (Oaxaca), the Art Museum of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (Cd. Mexico) and in the Senate of the Republic (Mexico City).
